I would appreciate some help in understanding the proposed immigration
bill. But first: the media generally presents the sides as the
(liberal) pro-immigrant coalition which wants congress to pass the bill
and the (conservative) anti-immigrant coalition that is opposed to it.
But it is my understanding that grass-roots immigration groups are also
very much opposed to this bill and in fact any bill during this
congress. Am I wrong about this? More importantly I would welcome a
brief summary/analysis of the bills key proposals, including those that
concern the creation of a guest worker program -- the requirements and
limitations, etc. -- and those that purport to allow undocumented
workers an opportunity to legalize.

Thanks,

Marty
