OpenBSD does come with Perl and CPAN installed - but would it be best to download and compile the current versions? If so, is there a book or resource I can go to that would outline the steps involved- or is such a process too complex for a beginner like me.... -------------------------- How are you updating the modules? What problems are you having? What error meesages? I typically use the 'perl -MCPAN -e shell' command to update / install modules. It does a great job of resolving any module-based depenances that often spring up. If you are doing your updates differently please give a bit more info so I (or someone more knowledgeable) can help you troubleshoot the problem(s). The best place for CPAN documentation is the CPAN site it's self really. Like this one on installing modules: http://www.cpan.org/misc/cpan-faq.html#How_install_Perl_modules. There are many very good books on Perl, most which can be found here: http://perl.oreilly.com/. Paul Pettit CTO and IS Manager Consistent Computer Bargains Inc. I've heard it said that the proof of lunacy is when you repeat the same steps expecting different results. I say it's proof that you're a Microsoft user. - comment by deshi777 on experts-exchange.com _______________________________________________ Perl-Unix-Users mailing list Perl-Unix-Users@listserv.ActiveState.com To unsubscribe: http://listserv.ActiveState.com/mailman/mysubs
