Greetings!

For some reason some our WinNt 4, Sp6a and W2K, Sp2
machines contain the following System Event Log error
after running a Win32::InitiateSystemShutdown routine:

>>>>>> The previous system shutdown at 1:22 AM on
8/19/01 was unexpected. <<<<<

I run the following code every night as part of our
gotta-reboot-the-NT-web-servers requirement:

<<<<<< begin snip >>>>>>>>>>>>>

    if ($ShutDownFlag eq 'YES') {

        $RemoteShutdown = print
Win32::InitiateSystemShutdown(
            $strHostName, #the host name
            $ShutdownMessage, #preparing for shutdown
in $WaitBeforeShutdown seconds
            $WaitBeforeShutdown, #usually 120-seconds
            $ForceClose, #set to 1 = true
            $Reboot #set to 1 = true
        ); #end of $RemoteShutDown =...

    } else {

        print 'The ' . $strHostName . ' will not be
shutdown. The ShutDownFlag is set to: ' .
$ShutDownFlag . "\n";

    }; #end of if shutdownflag

<<<<<< end of snip >>>>>>>>>>>>>

Surveying the Msoft MSDN, Msoft TechNet, ActiveState
Mailing Lists, and all of the sundry perl lists hosted
by Google for any information related to my present
quandary has been futile thus far.

Please reply with your sage advice.
