Quick question (because I don't remember). On Win9x, setting an environment
value in a console window causes the environment for everyone to change,
right? So you're just refreshing those applications that haven't started
yet. For once I wish I had a 95/98/ME system around. In either case, I
guess what I'm getting at is that if you want the change to be permanent,
say if you wanted to have all of your systems to have their asset tag as an
environment variable, for example, you'd also have to edit the autoexec.bat
to load it after the next reboot, right? Or is there a better way? I
generally consider myself lucky to be able to leave these OS's in the dust
at work, but you still never know when you'll need to know this stuff.

I like to stick with solutions that work on 9x also.
