Can you install ppm packages from ActiveState's repository?
And, from a DOS shell, does
 C:\> ppm install http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/Crypt-SSLeay.ppd
work (for ActivePerl 8xx - do a s/ppms/ppmpackages/ for
6xx)? ActiveState also hosts a ppm mailing list, if this
problem persists.
