Based on datestamps of various scripts, looks like I received and tested it in May 2005 and started using it in production scripts in August 2005.

Rock. Just as I suspected. In that case we may be able to just consider that a pre-release of 2.0.0 ... Anne, do you recall when you started using the version you have now? The only recent change that I fear a little is the API change in delete_subfield() from "position" to "pos". There were only 4 days where it was in flux, though, so I think it's probably safe. With confirmation of the timeline (specifically, that Anne got her version sometime before Apr 30, 2006 or after after May 4, 2006) I propose that we move forward with 2.0.0 based on several +1s and one "eh". I'll wait until the begining of next week to let digest readers catch up, and barring any screaming I'll package it then.
