I have no code to do this, and I'm not going to get time to look at it. (Too much other stuff already, including 5.8.7 being a bit later than intended). Any API that goes into 5.8.7 has to keep being supported, so no, I'm not putting anything in that's not been shaken down for a bit. Particularly given that I'm running late on 5.8.7 by quite a bit. (pesky real life) If code freeze for 5.8.8 is still supposed to be the start of July, then having it in by then might well work. Also if it seems sane, it might work if the MP folks ship a patch for MP2 early adopters who need threads to compile a custom perl with. Nicholas Clark
