Interesting. I'm using 2.3.2. Do you have the opportunity to try out NPTL with a newer glibc and kernel? It may involve some pain, so that's fine if you'd rather not. (I'm in the same boat.) I'm just about ready to bring this up on the Linux PPC user list in the meantime. -- c
