Just wanted to get that stated explicitly. I hope "heralded" gives
enough time to those of us who would like to adopt orphaned ideas.
Even with a mailing list exclusively dedicated to the issue, I found
it very hard to gauge the level of interest and approval for my RFCs.
There were several comments of, "Oh, I'd like to see this but a little
differently, but don't have enough time to devote to this issue right
now." I literally can't tell if I'd be wasting my time trying to
prototype any of these or if a hundred people would be mad if I
silently abandoned the proposals.
All in all, I like what you are saying; I am just scared of the
consequences of making the original proponent of an idea solely
responsible for its success or failure.
