Well, its not like all copies are going to be thrown into the void,
forever cast out from all knowledge forever. If an RFC gets orphaned
and then somebody yells, it can always be brought back.

Declaring an RFC orphaned is the surest way to get a response. :)
Seriously. If it looks like there's no interest, announce (loudly)
that you're withdrawing it. That should nudge the lurkers into
action.
