I don't want to install PerlBrew as I have admin access on the machine. I can install whatever I want. And I have already three versions of Perl on my machine. Also, I installed wxWidgets 2.9 using macports, as it can be compiled as universal. (they instructions talk about 2.8) (I really recommend to everyone who works on Mac to turn the universal variant by default for Ports. it will save you a lot frustration)
