Errr... in short, no.

It would be very difficult to build against an 'unknown' personal user's
perl, and then I could be overwriting your specific perl modules.
/usr/bin/perl is guaranteed to be on all Macs, so I stick with that.

I had attached the build notes on the last email - but I can send them again
in a separate email.
