As I said earlier, don't like this proposal at all.

* I think it is too plain, boring and quite dark

* I don't like the big image at the top. All it does is push
meaningful content further down for no good reason.

* The images are inconsistent. Especially the one with the map. But
they all have an inconsistent look, design, colour scheme, etc.

* The style of the search box is incongruent with the style of the
rest of the site (shadows, rounded boxes, gradients, etc).

* You are expecting a website to have more control over fonts than is
probably reasonable. Ultimately we are limited to the fonts on the
user's computer, so we have to pick generic fonts. You also changed
the body into a serif font, which is incongruent with the sans font of
the header and sidebar.

* The different content areas are not very clearly separated (the
banner, the different sections of the sidebar, and the page content).

* I don't like the logo. The size is too small, and the spacing
between the `p` and the `d` feels large compared to the `d` and the
`l`.

* I disagree with the choice of links in the first two sections of the sidebar:

  - "What is PDL?", "Why PDL?", "History" and "Future" do not look
like useful pages.

  - There is no Home link, which is important for navigation.
  - There is no contact link (e.g. "mailing lists") which is important too.
  - There is no Wiki link, yet we are expected to use and update the wiki.

  - I disagree with a "Download" link because that is not how Linux
users will want to get PDL. The install page I wrote aims to give the
right information to users of each platform. In addition, you are
missing the link to the manual install page, which is also important.

  - I don't like the separated Install links.

  - "External Libs" doesn't fit under "learn".

Daniel.
