Thanks for the reply, Chris. I do have the GrWin driver installed. The "demo
pgplot" works the first time. The error pops up on repeated attempts to run it
or "demo bad2". Hopefully Rob has some pointers as the GrWin driver hasn't been
updated in recent history (at least since I installed PDL on my new computer
this year).

This time I saw the error from the FreeGLUT popup.
That usually means that either something is up with the linking of the
application or (possibly) there are multiple versions of the freeglut.dll in
your path and one is a different version.
The bad2 and pgplot demo errors are all because you do not have the GW driver
installed. I'll let Rob steer you towards the best solution there as I haven't
got that working myself.
