thank you Rob very much for uploading the ppm for PDL-Audio, i have installed
it on windows xp activestate perl 5.12.1, and yes there is a problem in the
birds data 'cassins-kingbird' and 'american-widgeon', i have tried the
bird-def.pl with the data of only one problematic bird and even it is plotted
the data but no sound and with error like you have mentioned
if you added some extra data from another bird to cassins-kingbird data like :
[0.4,0.2,1800,200,0.1,[0,0,1,40,1,100],[0,0,1,25,0.7,60,1,75,0,100],[1,1,2,0.02]],
then it will produce a sound without errors. so we can deduce that the
'cassins-kingbird' data have no suitable ending for the windows to understand.
ie like trying to play a corrupted wav.
the two birds are working okay on linux.

regards
