Subject: Re: [Perldl] CHM/PDL-2.4.10_002.tar.gz released to CPAN

This is identical to the previously announced PDL-2.4.10_001
release except that a broken commit which was causing
build failures has been reverted. Thanks and let me know
if you see any other issues or have feedback...

That simply guarantees that PDL-2.4.10_002 fails to build for anyone
(including me) who has installed the latest version (4.8.0) of the proj
library.

Yes, but it also guarantees that all the stuff in
PDL-2.4.10 that worked with PROJ4, still works
with the developers release as far as earlier PROJ4
releases (apparently).

(I pushed that change to Proj.pd to git on a punt that it would backport
ok, having received no advice to the contrary.)

I tried to see if there were a quick fix but
there were a bunch of missing declarations from
project and it was definitely more than could
be done and verified in time for the Friday CPAN
Developers release.

FWIW, it failed out of the box on cygwin for a clean
build (with an earlier PROJ4 release).

Is there a *portable* patch for Proj.pd kicking around somewhere ? Or do
we still have to come up with one ?

Still needs doing. We probably should have an
open bug ticket to track this. I would like to
see such a portable implementation. It may be
that we have to have conditional code around the
4.8.0 version boundary.

For now I'll just use the Proj.pd from 0.001 with 0.002.

OK. I'm glad the 0.001 version works for you.
