Hi Tim-

The LyX version was an updated version of the original TeX
PDL Book which I had revised to bring it up to around PDL-2.4.3
or so.

For PDL-2.4.10 we decided to go with a POD approach for a
"content mainly" version (my quotes) where the focus would
be on content rather than book  typography.  The idea was
that the more generic format would make the information more
readily available to the PDL community since it could be made
available in the online docs (via pdldoc...) or an ebook/PDF
format.  Take a look at the git repository for some readme
information on how to edit/add content and how to generate the
PDF version and index.
