I have finally submitted the MacPorts patch for p5-pdl. In addition to the updating it to 2.006, it created ports for the missing prereqs (File::Map, Convert::UU, etc.). A couple of interesting items:
- I wrote a very simple script to rewrite the urls in pdldoc.db (perl/p5-pdl/files/fix-pdldocdb.pl). It is run at the end of the build step. This should get 'help' working under the macports install and all files will remain under macports control. - pdl2 requires Devel::REPL which has a long prereq chain. I was not able to create ports for Devel::REPL and each of its prereqs, so pdl2 fails. I'm not sure if we need to issue a warning or remove it? I also created a port for PDL::Graphics::Gnuplot, since that is the graphics utility that I use. The ticket is here: https://trac.macports.org/ticket/39222 And my development repos is: https://github.com/mvgrimes/macports-p5-pdl Again, I am happy to try to maintain this, but I expect to continue using a version of PDL installed under a perlbrewed perl. Ideally, this would be maintained by someone who uses it regularly.
