I don't fully understand the impact of mixing native tools and Cygwin tools, and I sometimes have trouble when I do this. If you don't have a strong grasp of Cygwin either, then I strongly recommend that you use the Cygwin build of Perl in a Cygwin environment, or otherwise use a DOS shell when interacting with ActiveState Perl.

I have both installed.
