Thanks, Christian. Silverfish are one of my most common pests. I think ours are
Lepisma. Interestingly, the places I find them around the museum don’t always
seem to be associated with high RH, which I have always found curious, though I
suppose there are always little microclimates.

Hallo Dee,
if there is an infestation of giant silverfish (Ctenolepisma longicaudata) you
can find excrement looking like ground pepper.
It would be worth to identify the silverfish, if it is Ctenolepisma
longicaudata or Lepisma saccharina.

If you need further help, just contact me.

Good luck,
Christian

Betreff: [PestList] Pest identification help
Hi all,

Can anyone help me identify these small pepper like speckles that I have
occasionally seen on my blunder traps? In this case, there are two small
silverfish on the trap, but I have not always seen these with silverfish and
vice versa. I am wondering if they are excrement? This appeared within the last
3 months, when while our site was inaccessible for IPM checks due to the
pandemic.I apologize for not having a measuring scale handy – I used a
ballpoint pen tip to indicate scale.

Thanks,
Dee
