Subject: [PestList] Carpet Beetle ID and Unknown ID

Good morning,

I occasionally find a stray adult Asian Carpet Beetle that has wandered in from
outside, but last week I found a few slightly different looking carpet beetles
and larvae in a trap (carpet beetle & dermestid larvae photos attached). I'm
thinking they are Varied Carpet Beetles, but would love some confirmation on
that.

This trap is in a conference room with many windows. Not usually used for
collections, but a staff member recently decided to use the space to sort a
large potential donation.

Also on the trap are a few very small (less than 1 mm in length)...something.
My tick-phobia makes me afraid that they are ticks, but I know that doesn't
make much sense. I thought I would post the images here (labeled unknown) and
see if anyone has an idea - they were too small for me to get a very good
image, so I understand if an accurate ID cannot be made from these images.

Thanks for your help!

Best,
Crista
