The piece was treated before it was gifted to us some time ago, but apparently the feces was part of the gift : ) It was taken off view and is currently sealed in a mylar bag and I’m curious what the likely hood of a current infestation is. Jo - Freezing the piece at minus 20 F for 72 hours will kill all stages of drywood termites. However, you have to decide if the piece can be frozen without damage being done to it. Most of the time, you can wrap it in polyethylene and put it in a chest freezer. Or sometimes you might need to take it to a frozen food company and put it in one of their cold rooms. They usually have one for meat and butter storage which maintains minus 20 F.
