Morning pesty people from another cold and soggy Britain. I wanted to share a few questions and knowledge about treatment selection for museum objects and anyone who is willing to help us would be recognised in our documents as a thank you as well as a professional acknowledgement.
1. Is anyone aware of a situation where a portable C02 chamber has been used and was available for hire similar to a lorry mounted freezer unit? We need to use Co2 because we do not have the use of Nitrogen here in the UK and we are exploring options for a bubble in a museum store but preferably outside for H&S reasons. Unfortunately, the C02 company here do not have lorry mounted chambers. 1. We are reviewing what we consider to treat by C02 because freezing is not considered safe and would be happy to share our lists for comment and use examples which support our decision making. In particular we are reviewing the safe to freeze lists and any additional precautions we need to make for specific object types I know all of us have a must not freeze lists, but the more I investigate, the more variety I find regards Adie Mr Adrian (Adie) Doyle Integrated Pest Management Manager British Museum Property & Facilities Management Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3DG Current work pattern (subject to change) Monday - WFH Tuesday - Blythe House Store/WFH Wednesday - WFH Thursday - Orsman Road Store/WFH Friday - Bloomsbury Email: ado...@britishmuseum.org<mailto:ado...@britishmuseum.org> The British Museum Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3DG britishmuseum.org<https://gbr01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.britishmuseum.org%2F&data=02%7C01%7C%7C7a9ff9c7e2464696ab3908d7629aa629%7Ca7f588e4c7964ce2b525daac11557e97%7C0%7C0%7C637086288666858073&sdata=FVkPCmec5C%2BmguWcS52ubg0CqaXxxfIrpeEoFIPj4Z0%3D&reserved=0> The security classification for this message is OFFICIAL Please see our privacy policy<https://gbr01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.britishmuseum.org%2Fabout_this_site%2Fterms_of_use%2Fprivacy_policy.aspx&data=02%7C01%7C%7C7a9ff9c7e2464696ab3908d7629aa629%7Ca7f588e4c7964ce2b525daac11557e97%7C0%7C0%7C637086288666858073&sdata=yo3WGYN18NLhIEgWwe1fgs0yqoBQJQi3IcLhtPreutc%3D&reserved=0> for more details about how we use your personal data and about your rights or contact the Museum's Data Protection Officer at i...@britishmuseum.org<mailto:i...@britishmuseum.org>, telephone 020 323 8000 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MuseumPests" group.
