Hi Alan,

My first thought it that it looks a bit like the Museum Beetle (Anthrenus
museorum)
https://museumpests.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/museum-beetle-fact-sheet.pdf

Let’s see if anyone else has some ideas for you too! When varied carpet beetles
get their hairs knocked off I have a much harder time, but others here usually
can figure it out.

Best wishes,
Genevieve

Subject: [PestList] beetle identification

Hello all,

I find the mummy thread very interesting...

However, I have another issue. I've attached a couple of photos of a beetle I
found in a trap. At first I thought I had a varied carpet beetle, but closer
examination made me doubt that. It's about 3 mm in length. Anyone have an
idea what it could be? The photos have different focal points to make
identification a little easier.

Thanks,

Alan
