Hello again!

More larvae to ID. This is a photo I received from someone asking for help, so
I can’t get a closer image. To me, they look like fly larvae, but I don’t think
they’re feasting on the snake(?) on the trap. Should staff be on the lookout
for another dead animal? Am I misidentifying a wood-boring pest?

This trap is from an open air wooden structure on Cumberland Island (off the
coast of Georgia). It does not house objects.

Bonus points if you can ID the snake.

Thank you!
