Thanks for the offer richard, I have not yet succeded in Getting linux
onto my USB hard drive it gets so far through the formatting and the

the Live dsto version Do it. By the way it installs ok onto my second HDD.
what type is the hard drive - is it just an IDE device hooked up via an
IDE-USB cable or is it a proprietary external HDD.
Some of the latter have their own file systems that may make life awkward.
