sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/slicknesS-black /usr/share/themes
Note the capitalised D in Desktop, and the space between between the
source and destination filenames (between "black" and "/usr"). Also
check the spelling and case of the source file - case is important so
slickness and slicknesS are different.
All that said, the first problem you need to solve is that sudo is
giving you an error unrelated to the rest of the command. (Sudo runs
whatever command you tell it as the root user, but the error you're
getting is from sudo not from the command, so it doesn't matter how hard
you try to get the command right it'll never work until you fix the
problem with sudo).
Try, for example:
sudo ls
.. which I guess will get you the same error.
I found some advice here for the sudo problem:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=723361
Be careful when following instructions involving sudo/gksudo and ask
back if you're not sure *before you run them*!
