The Department of Computing, Mathematics, and Physics at Western Norway 
University of Applied Sciences has an open position as associate professor in 
software engineering for networked embedded systems.

Faculty members at the department are active in international, national and 
regional research, participating in projects in collaboration with many 
universities and companies internationally and nationally. The research 
activities at the department is part of the applied ICT Engineering research 
programme ( http://ict.hib.no ) of the Faculty, which constitute the foundation 
for the newly established PhD programme in Computer Science: Software 
Engineering, Engineering Computing, and Sensor Networks. In addition, the 
department offers bachelor programmes in computing and information technology, 
and a master's programme in software engineering.

We seek candidates with a research profile and a proven research track record 
covering software engineering and networked embedded systems related to areas 
such as: development methodology and technology for networked embedded systems, 
hardware platforms and software frameworks for internet-of-things, model-driven 
software engineering, software reliability and security, robotics and 
industrial control systems, sensor networks and cyber-physical systems. The 
successful applicant will become member of the research group in software 
engineering 
(http://prosjekt.hib.no/ict/research/model-based-software-engineering) which 
focuses on the application of model-driven software engineering in areas such 
as mobile applications, the automotive industry, embedded systems, industrial 
control systems, robotics, and healthcare.

College and Stord/Haugesund University College merged to form Western Norway 
University of Applied Sciences. With about 16,000 students, it is one of the 
largest higher education institutions in Norway. A broad range of academic
