Alain,
I have had a lot of success doing exactly what you are
trying to do. I'm using the HOW modeling tool from
Riverton (learning edition comes with PB) and the
framework (Openframe) that comes with it. We've
developed Jaguar components using just the framework
with NO pfc with 3 types ofclients:
1) thin PB clients using just PFC (no Openframe)
2) "chubby" clients using pfc and openframe
3) web clients
The thin PB clients are very similar to web clients
(which makes porting relatively painless). We've got
all of our business logic in either Jaguar components
or nvo's that are accessed (on Jaguar) by business
service components. I'm planning to do a writeup for
the PBDJ on this very soon. If you'd like any
additional info, feel free to email me. You can get
info on HOW/Openframe at www.riverton.com .
