That is pretty close to "psql" and it will be utterly confusing for new users. And everyone will have a hard time when talking about the tools, imagine someone saying "please run psql appdbname" or "please run pgsql createdb". The difference is just too small. What might possibly make sense is to add options to psql to facilitate common tasks: psql --createdb foo psql --createuser bar --superuser psql --reindex foo Christoph
