I was talking about the motivation behind this thread, and I suppose that I included you in that based on things you've said about Windows in the past (apparently I shouldn't have done so). I am interested in making the code less complicated. If we can remove the work_mem kludge for Windows as a consequence of that, then so much the better. -- Peter Geoghegan
