Bundling pg_config into a -libs package is probably not going to happen, at least not on Red Hat systems, because it would create multilib issues (ie, you're supposed to be able to install 32-bit and 64-bit libraries concurrently, but there's noplace to put a /usr/bin file without causing a conflict).
There is no separate directory for 64bit binaries like /usr/bin and /usr/bin/amd64 on Solaris? And even in the absence of such a convention I'd still like to have both 32bit and 64bit binaries of the server/client available. I have a feeling this topic is digressing a bit. -- Johann Oskarsson http://www.2ndquadrant.com/ |[] PostgreSQL Development, 24x7 Support, Training and Services --+-- | Blog: http://my.opera.com/myrkraverk/blog/ -- Sent via pgsql-hackers mailing list (pgsql-hackers@postgresql.org) To make changes to your subscription: http://www.postgresql.org/mailpref/pgsql-hackers
