are the batches single insert's, or within a big transaction?

I.E., does the inserts look like:
INSERT
INSERT
INSERT

or

BEGIN
INSERT
INSERT
INSERT
COMMIT

If the former, the latter is a big win.

Also, what release(s) are you running?
