JP Morgan tried to replace most of their Smalltalk code since then, and after many failed attempts they migrated most of the Kapital system to Python, except for the exotics derivatives software, they failed on every attempt. It seems to be too complex and very well solved with the current implementation in Smalltalk. JPMC have thousands of developers and ~100 of them develop with Smalltalk on a VisualWorks+GemBuilder+GemStone/S software. Regards! Esteban A. Maringolo
