Counterpoint understood.

I am just a user of the product. I think that the data loss, security and
interoperability should be the main concern. Otherwise, it would be better
to enhance psyche with improvements that were made so far. Then work on yet
another phase to update the beta release.

My main concerns are for integrity of CDRs or backups of any kind. Strong
utiliities to manage the system, then comes hardware compatibility, followed
by stable and easily usable programs.

I'd love to have a new release to try out. But introducing one that has some
great improvements, but breaks the quality of other programs might throw out
a bad reputation for the company, developers and of course the bottom line
from the negative publicity.

This beta is highly improve from version 8.0 already, but there are concerns
with wine and other developers that contribute to the usability of the
release. These concerns need to be addressed also.

I don't use wine myself much, but I do know that a lot of people do for
certain concerns that they need to address or have to address to overcome
proprietary technologies.

Of course those wanting the 3D driver from nividia, they probably want it
fairly soon. It is an impressive beta.
