Is there some reason that no templates are packaged for openoffice with
Phoebe? There are some at:
 http://whiteboard.openoffice.org/doc/Samples_Templates/User/template/
for example.

I haven't looked recently at what openoffice packages in its tarballs, but
could someone at red hat respond on the red hat position?

Indeed there are 2 bugz. entries for this very thing:
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=84777
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=77613

One of the reasons that I ask is that I recently submitted some
presentation templates to the maintainer of the above link for inclusion
with the rest. He has asked me to sign and submit their joint copyright form
first. This seems ordinary and correct, but is there some wierd legalese
in all of this that prevents us from having templates distributed with the
distro? I don't want to sign and return the form until I hear from
someone first.

Templates ARE important to end-users, as anyone who supports these tools
will tell you...
 cheers,
   denice
