1. Has anybody else experienced problems with the GNOME weather applet from behind a proxy?
Yes, I just tried it, and I get the same problems with the beta. Psyche works fine.
2. Can anybody suggest any other applications that use the GNOME 2 network proxy settings so I can test whether the problem is likely to lie in the weather applet or the GNOME proxy code in general.
The stock ticker should also use the network proxy settings. Neither work for me in the beta, but they both work in Psyche. Enter a bug report in bugzilla under gnome-applets.
