Mike, Thanks for your suggestions. However, this was a clean pheobe3 install. I had the radeon 9000 pro in from the start so there was no other h/w to corrupt the lib symlinks. I was able to get it working as per my previous post, but the initial "movie" is still really jerky and unwatchable.
