Did Tesla get a patent for his fluorescent tube? And what year did he invent
it?

I don't think Tesla was the inventor of the fluorescent light tube. That
invention is usually credited to Peter Cooper Hewitt, who invented the
mercury vapor lamp in 1901 with patent # 889,692. The modern fluorescent
lamp was invented by Edmund Germer, Friedrich Meyer, and Hans Spanner
in 1927 with patent #2,182,732. However, the first practical fluorescent
lamp was sold by GE in 1938 from designs patented by George Inman, and
Richard Thayer in 1938 (#2,259,040). It is true that physicists in the19th
century, such as Alexandre Becquerel, did experiments with fluorescence and
phosphorescence, and possibly Tesla did similar experiments. Even our
friend, Edison, filed a patent (#865,367) in 1896 for a fluorescence lamp,
but his used x-rays to produce the light!!
