I know you folks must be tired of hearing about this...but. I lightly oiled
(high quality sewing machine oil) whatever looked like it moved on the Regina
Hexaphone, and it now plays an entire record! It looks like it might need
adjustment of at least 2 springs: one related to pulling the head over while
winding, the other way underneath related to helping the horn neck move while
playing. The sound is tremendous: sharp, loud, clear...it fills the room! :)

The initial start mechanism is tight. I remembered how to get it going, but
again, there could be a spring related to it, and/or cleaning and oiling would
help that area.

In short, the Hexaphone works! It nees a little help here and there, but it
works. I was sooo excited...it took me back almost 50 years (eek!).

Keep an eye out on ebay where it will be going soon, under user ger55, unless
someone is still interested in a private sale. It would not be necessary to
pick up the machine, but you would have to arrange your own packing and
shipping.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who helped, offered advice, and one or 2 who have
been real "pals." ;)
Ger

PS: Here are the 4 min. blue amberol records on the machine. These have been on
there for over 30 years. LOL
a.. Belle of New York & 2nd Regt Conn NG Marches Band
    b.. That's How I Need You. Gillette
c.. Temple Bells. Gillette & Chorus
    d.. Glowworm. Band
e.. Favorite Airs from the Mascot. Edison Light Opera Co.
f.. True to the Flag-March. U.S. Marine Band
Oh, and to those who asked: the head is UNMARKED. But I'm sure it's original to
the machine, since the mechanism around it is pretty complex, involving
lowering and then lifting the head mechanically as needed.
This has been super fun for me, revisiting with an eye to reviving this old
lovely! Geze, do I sound like I'm "falling in love" again...help! :)

Congratulations reviving that magnificent and rare gem of a machine that was
undoubtedly your dad's pride and joy!! sounds like you got the "Bug" for it.
Are you sure you want to give up this hierloom and have it "leave the
family" forever?? You may seriously regret it, there is still time to change
your mind!!
