Agreed, I out a Vaughn DeLeath cylinder on there recently, number 5666, admittedly a high number, recorded in 1929. I ALMOST put a buy it now price of $100, but I didn't. Good thing, because it went for $500!!!

Several years ago, I bought an incomplete Berliner on ebay for $750.00. I was missing the horn, elbow and some screws. I have since completed the machine. At the same time, a VV IX went for $1500.00!! Just recently, a Standard model F went for $6100.00!! Now there is a rigid arm Victor E going for $950.00 with a few hours to go. It could go up in the last few minutes of the auction. Those are my observations of ebay. I've seen good things go on ebay for nothing and crappy stuff go high. I have a 5400 series BA that I tried to sell and couldn't get more than $20 after listing it twice, (it was a Hawaiian number) so I kept it. I just relisted it yesterday and its up to $42 already. So, as you say, go figure. --- On Mon, 1/17/11, Jay Horenstein <jay.horenst...@gmail.com> wrote: From: Jay Horenstein <jay.horenst...@gmail.com> Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Theodore Roosevelt cylinder To: "Antique Phonograph List" <phono-l@oldcrank.org> Date: Monday, January 17, 2011, 11:40 AM I couldn't tell you. I had a early Vic I (mint) all original, low serial number, original small flower horn, and small reproduction bell horn (for a flawless display) on EBay, and it went for $625. At the same time a beat up, non working, no horn, nothing special Vic 1 went for $1500. Go figure. Recently I offered an oak spearpoint (make an offer) horn on on these phono forums, NO bites, but it went for $1250 on EBay. Who knows what goes on in the mind of a collector?
