I have a bunch of these & other Fred Babson ads, still in their original newsprint magazines. Babson actually used an old engraving of an Amberola X - note the tall lid.

What is the history regarding the grills & cloth, say on amberola 30s
however, it may be applicable to all Amberolas.



Often I find old grills with bits of cloth on them, both wood an medal.



So.. Did they originally come with cloth or is that a "reproduction"
innovation.



Just not sure which way to go on replacing or leaving cloth on the Amberolas
I have.
