I've seen BA cylinders that have a purplish hue to them, but not like the
Royal
Purple series. I wonder if it is a BA that is a bit bleached out or
something?
Can you post a pic?

Subject: [Phono-L] question for "purple" cylinder

Phono listers:

My wife found a "purple" Edison ( I assume) cylinder as she has been told to
buy them when she finds them as they are a little mor sought after than "run
of the mill blue ones".

When we looked at it, it did not start with "29**", it had the number of
"3790" title: everybody wants a key to my cellar"

Not what I was expecting when she said she found a "purple" cylinder. She
claims it is the same "purple" color.

The lettering is not gold however, it is "white".

So..: What is the deal? I thought all purple cylinders were from the "29**"
series!
