I had this problem on Win2k, IIS5 with versions 4.1.1 and 4.1.2, but I upgraded today to 4.2rc4 and it worked perfectly! Thanks Derick! Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-04-11 11:53:15] [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'm experiencing the same Problem on 4.1.1, but less than on 4.1.2 I downgraded to 4.1.1 afer the session-system wasnt working at all anmore, now it still happens, but only once in about 15 times. OS: Win2000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-04-10 05:46:38] [EMAIL PROTECTED] In PHP 4.2.0RC2, situation is the same... Sessions fail. Looks like it's not file access problem, because it writes explicitly (by session_register) registered variable names, but not their values. Please investigate... My system: Win98/Apache-2.0.35/PHP as CGI/... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-04-10 05:17:06] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi, It is fixed in PHP 4.2.0 Look for PHP 4.2.0 at: http://www.php.net/~derick/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-04-08 18:23:53] [EMAIL PROTECTED] To answer derick's post (April 6) about 'nothing being changed': this can't be true! My session code which works absolutely fine in 4.1.1 doesn't work in 4.1.2, nor in the latest Release Candidate 2. Note: I'm talking about Windows here, Linux works fine. What really bothers me is that the bug was mentioned in bug 16043, but was hard to find because it was closed, which it definitely shouldn't be. Also, I completely agree with all posts there: this is a MAJOR bug, and a patch or something should be published! It worked fine in 4.1.1, and now it's broken. DO SOMETHING PLEASE! This bug has lost me a day, and that's about 500 billing dollars where I come from. Thanks a lot... For those of you looking for version 4.1.1 (the one that works, even though it has security risks): http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=ftp&cs=iso-8859-1&ftype=6&q=php-4.1.1-Win32.zip Vincent P.S.: I know I shouldn't be posting this here, but I'm really pissed because of beforementioned loss of money... Nothing personal, really. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-04-08 09:13:12] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Just to let people know I am having same bug. I am on Win2K,IIS5,PHP4.1.2 running as CGI File is created but no data is saved. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
