things like <html lang="ja">, <meta http-equiv="content-language" 
content="ja"/>, and <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; 
charset=shift_jis">should help you.

If i were you i'd try saving the word as html, then copy and paste what you 
need. Don't copy too much though- just the encoding info and text... word 
html is so horrible.
