Officially SPL is part of PHP. It provides a standard interface for iterating 
over
aggregate objects, eg: array, directory listing, xml, etc...

    foreach ( new DirectoryIterator('./') as $Item ) 
        { 
        echo $Item.'<br />'; 
        } 
    } 

catch(Exception $e){ 
    echo 'No files Found!<br />'; 
}
