suppose the date is 12-10-01

$sent=mktime($yd_expl[0],$yd_expl[1],$yd_expl[2]);
if($today < $sent)
{ $bgcolor="white"; }
else
{ $bgcolor="lightblue"; }

it returns $today: 1007971200
$sent: 1008000000
I want it to return a smaller number for sent on (since the sent on date is before
todays date), than it does for today
