Was 4.2.3 really the last release for sparc/alpha/power platforms? There was an ftp site in France that had a set of patches to get 4.3.x working on 64-bit chips, but that it has been offline for days at least. I didn't see anything in CVS that indicated any attempt at 64-bit cleanliness was in progress.
