As far as I know, we usually see two choice of Simplefied Chinese(SC) encoding in SC version of Windows systems, one is 'zh' and another is 'gb2312'(I think 'gb2312' is the encoding method name of SC and 'zh' is SC's language code), but it's OK if anyone is chosen, for a same SC document, text or webpage. And I see usually 'zh' is stand for SC encoding in most of the multi-language support Program while 'tw' for Traditional Chinese(TC) encoding, which encoding name is 'big5'.
