It's not the end of the world but double work. New documentation should use the new style, especially an entire extension. Now this is one huge commit and within weeks another huge change will be needed to rewrite them, so, why not just do it right the first time? And who knows, maybe a translator will start translating, and soon have to also change those to the new format...it just seems right to do it all at once especially when there isn't any rush to get these into phpdoc, and when the new style is so close to being finalized.
